A Short bus journey (or at least it should have been, but Becky let me do the talking!) across the border, yet another passport stamp collected, and we find ourselves walking up a red dirt track to ´Hostel Natura´. And... this is what paradise looks like. Surely this is a health retreat, not a hostel? The owner, Anwar is so relaxed he is almost horizontal, and rightfully so as we relax straight into his place that has two fish filled lakes (which i swim in), hammocks idyllically stretched between two paired trees ,pool table, cachassa stocked bar and buffet meals laid on by his Aunt/chef. A-MAZE-ING. The people are great and the party like atmosphere almost knock the main attraction, the waterfalls, into second place. But not quite. We spend two days walking paths on both the Brazilian and then the Argentinian side of the falls and are increasingly stunned at every new angle. I pack my exhausted camera up at the end of the second day of spectacular splashing splendor and we revel in a Caipirinha fuelled send off.
Departure day, and Becky kicks off the first ever ´Miteyvegimar´challenge. As the title somewhat cryptically suggests, its Marmite versus Vegimite. Literally, a bite to the bitter end. Blindfolded contenders opt for their favoured yeast extract covered slice of toast. Marmite suffers a 5-2 loss as we cross back into Argentina in a hysterically loud Brazilian taxi and head west in with a sulking Becky clutching her beloved tub of Marmite.
